Two Generic Mexicans Busted for Robbery in Mexican_ marion cty Salem Oregon
( further proof that Mexicans are not leaving Oregon, they are robbing to make up lost wages)
On 02/09/09, just before 10:00 PM, a pedestrian was robbed at gunpoint by two males in a blue van at Center and Hawthorne NE. Then again on 02/15/09, two men on bicycles were robbed at gunpoint by two males Mexican males in a blue van in the 3600 block of Fisher Rd NE.
On 03/04/09, at about 7:00 PM, one of the victims from the second robbery was doing some shopping at the Wal-Mart Store, 1940 Turner Rd SE, when he recognized another shopper as one of the robbers. He kept an eye on him and alerted police who responded and arrested him in the parking lot at a 1995 Dodge Caravan, blue and silver in color. The suspect has been identified as Manuel Sanchez, 26 yrs of age, of Occupied Territory Salem.
Detectives were called in Wednesday night to conduct additional follow-up. The investigation led Thursday to the arrest of an additional 17 yr old male, formerly of Salem but now living in Silverton, for the first robbery as well.
Sanchez has been charged with three counts of Robbery I in connection with the two incidents and has been lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility. The 17 yr old has been charged with one count of Robbery I in connection with the first incident and was lodged at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Facility. The investigation is continuing, although police do not feel there are any other suspects involved with the two robberies.
