Oregon State Police – 04/17/09
A Salem-area man Mexican criminal meth head was arrested by Oregon State Police troopers with the assistance of Woodburn Mexican police( police have to speak spanish in woodburn due to the wetbacks taking over and the Mayor answers to the Mexican Consulate ) and Marion County deputies with a canine following the suspect’s attempted to elude in a vehicle and on foot west of Interstate 5 in Woodburn. Some area residents applauded as officers brought the suspect out from the area where he was arrested.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Sergeant Dale Young, on April 17, 2009 at approximately 3:30 p.m. OSP Recruit Trooper Jennifer Russell attempted to stop a white 1993 Oldsmobile Cierra four-door northbound on Interstate 5 approaching Woodburn. Prior to the stop, OSP Northern Command Center dispatch advised Russell the car was reported stolen April 13th in Salem.

According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Sergeant Dale Young, on April 17, 2009 at approximately 3:30 p.m. OSP Recruit Trooper Jennifer Russell attempted to stop a white 1993 Oldsmobile Cierra four-door northbound on Interstate 5 approaching Woodburn. Prior to the stop, OSP Northern Command Center dispatch advised Russell the car was reported stolen April 13th in Salem.
The driver initially stopped on the northbound Woodburn off ramp and as Russell exited her patrol vehicle the driver drove away, up the off ramp and westbound on Highway 219. Russell got back into her patrol car, notified OSP dispatch of the attempt to elude and tried to overtake the car as it turned northbound on Woodland Avenue. The car drove through the neighborhood several times before Russell lost sight.
Area residents directed Russell toward where the car was driving and she found it abandoned in a cul-de-sac on the north end of Woodland Avenue. A resident told Russell the driver fled on foot into the backyard of another residence in the 1800 block.
Additional OSP troopers, Woodburn police and Marion County deputies with a canine responded to assist. A perimeter was quickly established to contain the suspect. A canine track led to the suspect hiding in a marshy area behind the residences. To the applause of some residents, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident at about 4:15 p.m.
JUAN OLVERA-GOMEZ, age 28, from Salem, was lodged in the Marion County Jail on the following charges:
* Warrants for Assault in the Third Degree, Felony Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine
* Reckless Driving
* Felony Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle
* Misdemeanor Attempt to Elude on Foot
* Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
* Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
* Theft in the First Degree
He was also cited for Driving While Suspended.
