On Thursday afternoon, March 18, 2009, West Linn Police received an alert from a concerned citizen who reported an occupied suspicious vehicle in a residential area – this reported sighting led West Linn Police to a subject and heroin.
Shortly after this investigation was started by West Linn Police, members of the Clackamas County Inter Agency Task Force (CCITF) were summoned to assist with this ongoing heroin investigation.
As a result – this now expanded investigation – soon resulted in an additional subject identified as Edgar Antonio Mendozaortega, age 31, of NE Portland (a previously deported alien); arriving at the Albertson’s parking lot on Blankenship Road, in West Linn –- accompanied with his 22-month old daughter in the vehicle — with the intent of delivering the 4.5 grams of heroin he held in his possession.
Edgar Antonio Mendozaortega was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail with the associated charges identified as: (Photos Attached)
• Distribution of a controlled substance – heroin
• Possession of a controlled substance – heroin
• Child neglect
• Immigration hold – zero bail
Edgar Antonio Mendozaortega is scheduled to first appear on this matter in Clackamas County Circuit Court, Friday (Today), March 19, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.
The 22-month old child was initially taken into protective custody; although, later released to two responsible family members.
