Several minutes later, Salem Police Corporal Mike Baskett observed a green Ford Explorer driving southbound on Lancaster Drive. The driver of the Explorer quickly drove behind the Aibertos Mexican restaurant on Market Street, where the car stopped for a brief time. It was stopped as it pulled back onto Market Street.
Deputies later searched the area behind Aibertos and recovered a 380 semi-automatic handgun and some clothing that matched that worn by the suspects in the Pizza Hut robbery
Based upon evidence developed, and witness information, all four occupants were taken into custody. They were identified as Gregory Jude Zapata, 28,
Jamein Michael Zapata, 23, both of Salem, and two male juveniles, age 13 & 17. Due to their ages, they will not be identified.
Both Zapatas were booked and are being held without bail in the Marion County Jail on Robbery I charges. Their next court date is March 24th at 3:00pm.
The juveniles were lodged at the Juvenile Detention Facility.
