of course what the illegals in Montana will do is run and get their license renewed before the law goes into effect, as happened in Oregon. Now, there are just a lot of illegals here with open warrents and no drivers license.

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer signed HB 178 into law on Monday – a bill that requires the state to electronically verify legal presence before issuing a Montana driver’s license or state identification card.
Under the new law, applicants for new licenses will have to show proof of legal presence in the United States and an out-of-state driver’s license cannot be used as proof. The state will utilize the Systematic Alien Verification of Entitlements program, which checks an applicants information against federal data.
State Rep. Steve Lavin offered the bills.
“This is a great bill,” Rep. Lavin said. “It really decreases the chances for a terrorist getting a state-issued ID. I’m really proud the bill passed. It makes the state and country safer.”
